Abstract

Milk industry wastewater includes waters from some of processing, i.e. dissolving, cleaning tools and machines, residual water from milk processing, overflow in tanks, and rejected products. Rejected products are the milk products which unable to distributed due to the product quality standards. This results occurs due to various factors, includes errors in the production process, bad raw materials, or human error. Dairy industry wasterwater in the form of rejected milk contains high organic matter, such as protein and fat. Rejected milk has the potential ti be used as BSF larvae feed.
In this research studied about the processing of rejected milk using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae. In addition, tofu waste will be used as the subsidiary of the feed. The mixed feed consist of five variations; 1) 100% rejected milk, 2) mix of 75% rejected milk and 25% tofu waste, 3) mix of 50% rejected milk and 50% tofu waste, 4) mix of 25% rejected milk and 75% tofu waste, 5) 100% tofu waste. Feeding frequency once every three days, with one kilogram each feed.
Rejected milk contains of 84,48% water, 24,38% fat, and 5,92% protein. Tofu waste contains 87,84% water, 17,05% fat, and 3,31% protein. Feed with mixture of 50% rejected milk and 50% tofu waste produce the most results with 226,5 grams of pupas and the fewest results with 90 grams of pupas is fed with 100% rejected milk. Based on the results, mixture of 50% rejected milk and 50% tofu waste is the optimum feed ratio for BSF larvae between the others.
