Abstract

The meat of rat (Rattus Argentiventer) and Friesian Holstein (FH) Indonesia cow (Bos Taurus) has been successfully distinguished by the fluorescence spectrophotometer method. Rat and cow samples were taken from three different animals. The demineralized aqua solvent was used for the preparation of all samples, including blood, meat, and mixed meat of rats and cows. The results of rat blood and meat measurements showed that there was no difference in wavelengths in the excitation and emission spectra. Rat blood and meat both have excitation peaks at 348 nm and emission peaks at 346 and 695 nm.
FH Indonesia cow blood and meat measurements also show that there is no difference in wavelengths in the excitation and emission spectra. FH Indonesia cow blood and meat both have a characteristic peak of excitation at 297 nm and emissions at 297 and 598.5 nm. These results indicate differences in wavelengths in the excitation and emission spectra between rat and FH Indonesia cow. The results of measurements on mixed meat samples with the composition of rat meat 30, 20, 10, 1, and 0.5% also showed different spectra results. Mixed meat has an excitation peak at 330 nm and an emission peak at 330 and 679 nm.
