Abstract

Peralatan proteksi pada PLTU Paiton memilikin peran yang sangat penting untuk menjaga pasokan daya suatu sistem tenaga listrik agar kontuinitas daya dapat berjalan secara terus�menerus. Selain itu gangguan sistem tenaga listrik dapat menyebabkan trip-nya circuit breaker yang tersambung pada peralatan produksi listrik di luar kehendak operator saat proses produksi listrik. Salah satu peristiwa yang terjadi pada PLTU paiton unit 9 adalah trip nya sejumlah circuit breaker di luar kehendak operator saat terjadi gangguan hubung singkat pada beban motor seal air fan yang dapat menggannggu proses produksi listrik pada pembangkit. Maka dapat dilakukan studi tentang koordinasi proteksi untuk mengetahui setting rele yang tepat agar dapat menjaga keandalan sistem tenaga listrik dan dapat berjalan dengan optimal. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut, maka tugas akhir ini difokuskan pada studi koordinasi proteksi sistem kelistrikan pembangkit untuk mengetahui setting rele yang tepat pada sistem proteksi PLTU Paiton Unit 9 PT PLN Nusantara Power. Adapun hal yang akan dilakukan pada penelitian tugas akhir ini adalah menentukan setting koordinasi over current relay yang tepat berdasarkan
simulasi single line diagram sistem kelistrikan menggunakan software Etap 12.6. Dari simulasi tersebut dapat dilakukan analisa short circuit pada sistem kelistrikan unit pembangkit 9 PLTU Paiton serta mengetahui respon koordinasi sistem proteksi saat terjadi gangguan hubung singkat
dari unit pembangkit.

Protection equipment at the Paiton Power Plant has a very important role to maintain the power supply of an electric power system so that power continuity can run continuously. In addition, electrical power system disruptions can cause circuit breaker trips connected to electrical production equipment against the will of the operator during the electricity production process. One of the events that occurred at PLTU paiton unit 9 was the trip of a number of circuit breakers against the operator's will when there was a short circuit fault in the load of the air fan seal motor which could interfere with the electricity production process at the plant. Then a study can be carried out on protection coordination to find out the right rele settings in order to maintain the reliability of the electric power system and run optimally. In connection with this, this final project is focused on coordinating the protection study of the plant's electrical system to find out the right rele setting in the protection system of PLTU Paiton Unit 9 PT PLN Nusantara Power. The thing that will be done in this final project research is to determine the right over current relay coordination settings based on a single line diagram simulation of the electrical system using Etap 12.6 software. From this simulation, a short circuit analysis can be carried out on the electrical system of the 9 Paiton PLTU generating unit and determine the coordination response of the protection system when there is a short circuit disturbance from the generating unit.
