Abstract

Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) merupakan unit yang ada di PT. X Indonesia dengan kapasitas produksi 50 MBCD. Pada CDU (Crude Distillation Unit) terdapat 4 heater yaitu H- 1, H-2, H-3 dan H-4. Heater (H-1) merupakan heater dengan kapasitas 15 MBCD dengan tipe heater box yang berfungsi untuk memanaskan crude oil hingga diperoleh suhu yang ditargetkan. Untuk menghasilkan kondisi suhu yang diinginkan, bahan bakar heater pada PT.X menggunakan fuel oil yang didapatkan dari residu yang dihasilkan dari proses tersebut. Jumlah pemakaian fuel menjadi salah satu parameter yang mempengaruhi efisiensi heater (H-1). Hal ini dikarenakan pemakaian fuel secara berlebihan dapat menyebabkan penurunan efisiensi heater karena pemborosan biaya operasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam menghitung efisiensi yaitu menggunakan heat absorbed dan perhitungan optimasi heater menggunakan trial dan error aliran excess air dari 10-50%. Dalam perhitungan trial dan error, didapatkan bahwa titik yang baik dalam segi ekonomi, pembakaran, dan efisiensi terjadi pada besaran excess air yaitu 15%. Pada aliran excess air tersebut, terjadi penghematan fuel oil sebesar 0,0299 bbl/jam dan penghematan energi bahan fuel oil sebesar 167,291,12 Btu/jam atau setara dengan Rp. 386.206.952,12/tahun.

Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) is a unit in PT. X Indonesia with a production capacity of 50 MBCD. In the CDU (Crude Distillation Unit) there are 4 heaters namely H-1, H-2, H-3 and H-4. Heater (H-1) is a heater with a capacity of 15 MBCD with a heater box type which functions to heat crude oil until the targeted temperature is obtained. To produce the desired temperature conditions, the heater fuel at PT.X uses fuel oil obtained from the residue produced from the process. The amount of fuel used is one of the parameters that affect heater efficiency (H-1). This is because excessive use of fuel can cause a decrease in heater efficiency due to waste of operating costs. The method used in calculating efficiency is using heat absorbed and heater optimization calculations using trial and error flow of excess air from 10-50%. In trial and error calculations, it was found that the good point in terms of economy, combustion, and efficiency occurs at the amount of excess air, which is 15%. In the excess air flow, fuel oil savings of 0.0299 bbl/hour occur and fuel oil energy savings of 167,291.12 Btu/hour or equivalent to Rp. 386,206,952.12/year.
