Abstract

PT. Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PJB) Unit Pembangkitan
Gresik merupakan anak perusahaan dari BUMN PT. PLN yang
bergerak dalam bidang konversi energi khususnya di bidang
pembangkitan. PT. PJB UP Gresik tersebut memiliki tiga jenis
pembangkit yaitu PLTU, PLTG dan PLTGU. Pada sebuah PLTU
unit 4, kondensor sering mengalami masalah sehingga
mengakibatkan penurunan performansi. Masalah-masalah yang
didapat dari data di PT. PJB UP Gresik yaitu kebocoran pada
sisi tube, penurunan kevakuman, penurunan level air laut dan
korosi pada sisi tube. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mendesain
ulang surface condenser dengan material tube titanium dan
menguji performansi dari surface condenser terhadap jumlah
plugging.
Dimensi shell surface condenser, diameter luar tube, data
operasi dijaga tetap, sedangkan data yang divariasi adalah
ketebalan dari tube. Tugas akhir ini dilakukan dengan beberapa
tahapan, yaitu pengambilan data di PT. PJB UP Gresik,
pendesainan ulang surface condenser, melakukan uji performansi
dengan dimensi optimal. Penghitungan re-design dimulai dengan
mencari kalor di tiap zona (desuperheating, condensing dan
subcooling), pressure drop hingga perhitungan jumlah tube
dengan nilai kalor dijaga tetap. Perhitungan re-design digunakan
untuk mencari dimensi optimal. Perhitungan uji performansi
surface condenser dilakukan dengan variasi plugging 0% - 20%.

PT. Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PJB) Unit Pembangkitan
Gresik is a subsidiary of PT. PLN which is working in the field of
energy conversion, especialy in the field of power plants. PT. PJB
UP Gresik has three type power plants, that are steam power
plants, gas power plants dan gas-steam power plants. Surface
condenser in steam power plats unit 4, often have problems that
result in decreased its performance. The problems are leak in the
tube-side, decrease vacuum pressure,decrease the level of sea
water and corrosion in the tube-side. This finl project aims to
redesign surface condenser with titanium tube and test the
performance of the surface condenser to number of plugging.
Dimensions of shell, outside diameter of tube, and
operating data is kept, but thickness of tube is varied. The final
project is done in several stage, that is collecting data in PT. PJB
UP Gresik, redesigning surface condenser and testing the
performance with optimum dimenstions. Redesign calculation
begins from finding the heat in each zone (desuperheating,
condensing and subcooling zone), pressure drops to finding
number of tube with heating value are kept. Redesign calculations
are used to get optimum dimensions. Performance test
calculations are carried out by plugging variation from 0% to
20%.
