Abstract

2-Feniletil ester merupakan senyawa dengan aroma floral yang tahan lama dan sering dimanfaatkan pada berbagai produk kecantikan. Sintesis 2-feniletil ester secara kimiawi maupun enzimatik membutuhkan waktu 24 jam. Intensitas aroma 2-feniletil ester menurun dengan semakin besar massa molekul relatifnya. Penelitian yang dilakukan berhasil mensintesis empat analog 2-feniletil ester berupa 2-feniletil alkanatiooat masing-masing dalam waktu 25 menit. Sintesis dilakukan dengan mereaksikan feniletil merkaptan, 4-dimetilaminopiridina, dan asil klorida sehingga diperoleh 2-feniletil pentanatiooat, 2-feniletil isobutanatiooat, 2-feniletil butanatiooat, dan 2-feniletil 3,3-dimetilbutanatiooat masing-masing dengan rendemen 92%, 88%, 92%, dan 84%. Reaksi yang berlangsung diamati dengan kromatografi lapis tipis, sedangkan identifikasi hasil sintesis dilakukan dengan kromatografi gas-spektrometer massa (GC-MS), spektrometer NMR, infra merah.

================================================================================== 2-Phenylethyl esters is a compound with a floral aroma that is long-lasting and often used in a wide range of beauty products. Synthesis of 2-phenylethyl ester by chemical or enzymatic takes 24 hours. The intensity of 2-phenylethyl ester’s aroma decreases with greater of relative molecular mass. Research carried out successfully synthesize four analog 2-phenylethyl esters in the form of 2-phenylethyl alkanethiooate, which each for 25 minutes. The syntesis is done by reacting of phenylethyl mercaptan, 4-dimethylaminopyridine, and acyl chloride, therefore can be obtained 2-phenylethyl pentanethiooate, 2-phenylethyl isobutane-thiooate, 2-phenylethyl butanethiooate, and 2-phenylethyl 3,3-dimethylbutanethiooate each with a yield of 92%, 88%, 92%, and 84%. Reactions were observed by using Thin Layer Chromatography, while the identification of the synthesis products are done by using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), and Infrared spectrometer.
