Abstract

Logam berat berpotensi mencemari lingkungan diantaranya yaitu ion Pb2+,
berturut-turut sebesar 125 mg/g (0,074mm; 550oC); 38,462 mg/g (<0,074mm;
550oC); 200 mg/g (0,14-0,29mm; 550oC). Isotherm dan kinetika adsorpsi
berdasarkan kapasitas maksimum Pb2+, Cu2+, dan Zn2+ mengacu pada model
Freundlich – Pseudo-second order.

Environmental pollution can be casuseed by heavy metals ion such as
Pb2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+. One method that can be used to reduce heavy metals
concentration is adsorption. Blood cockle shell (Anadara granosa) can be used as
adsorbent alternative since it has very numerous and wide distribution in many
areas. The objectives the research are to determine characteristics of blood
cockle shell, adsorption capacity, isotherm, and kinetics.
Analysis of the characteristics of blood cockle shell use energy-dispersive
X-ray (EDX). Analysis of adsorption capacity based on grain size variation (0,14-
0,29 mm and <0,074mm size) and activation (110oC, 550oC, and H2SO4 0,5M)to
determine the largest adsorption capacity. Adsorption isotherm and kinetic was
obtain from batch experiment by varying mass of adsorbent (0,1-0,5 gram) and
time of adsorption (0,5-6 hour).
The result characteristics blood cockle shell show that before used for
adsorbent contain Ca, C, O, and Na after used for adsorbent Pb, Cu, and Zn are
stored in blood cockle shell. The maximum adsorption capacity blood cockle shell
that used for adsorbent Pb2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+ were 125 mg/g (<0,074mm; 550oC);
38,462 mg/g (<0,074mm; 550oC); 200 mg/g (0,14-0,29mm; 550oC) respectively.
The isotherm and kinetic adsorption based on maximum adsorption capacity
Pb2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+ following Freundlich – Pseudo-second order.
