Abstract

Perubahan kekerasan dan struktur mikro paduan Fe-Cr-Ni yang
ditambahkan krom telah dipelajari. Penambahan krom sebanyak
18, 20, 22, 24 %wt bertujuan untuk meningkatkan sifat kekerasan
paduan. Dengan memiliki kekerasan yang tinggi, paduan dapat
diaplikasikan di peralatan teknik seperti cryogenic vessels, heat
exchangers, dan pipa. Pengaruh penambahan kromium pada
paduan akan dikarakterisasi dengan Optical Emission
Spectroscopy, kekerasan, metalografi, EDX, dan X-Ray
Diffraction. Peleburan paduan dilakukan dengan menggunakan
Electric Arc Furnace. Studi ini menghasilkan pembuatan Fe-Cr-Ni
yang lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan studi sebelumnya.
Penambahan krom pada paduan Fe-Cr-Ni mengakibatkan naiknya
kekerasan serta komposisi krom pada paduan. Hasil paduan
menunjukkan fasa austenite, dan karbida krom. Mikrostruktur
paduan juga berubah dari ferrite dan pearlite, menjadi austenite
dan karbida krom.

The transformation of hardness and microstructure of Chrome
addition in Fe-Cr-Ni alloy was studied. 18,20,22,24 %wt Chrome
was added to improve a hardness value of the alloy. By improving
the hardness value, the alloy can be applied to engineering
equipment such as cryogenic vessels, heat exchangers, and
pipelines. The experimental alloy was melted in an electric arc
furnace, and casted to a refractory brick. The transformation
structures were characterized using Optical Emission
Spectroscopy, Brinell hardness, metallography, EDX and X-Ray
Diffraction. This study deliver a faster way to produce Fe-Cr-Ni
alloy compared to previous research. Chrome additions improved
the hardness value, as well as the chemical composition of the
alloy. The microstructure of resulted alloy changed from chrome
carbide,and pearlite to austenite, and chrome carbide phase.
