Abstract

Sistem pendingin sekunder RSG-GAS merupakan sistem pendingin resirkulasi ulang terbuka sehingga komponen pada sistem tersebut mudah berinteraksi dengan oksigen yang ada di lingkungan sekitar yang menyebabkan proses oksidasi. Pengendalian korosi dilakukan dengan penambahan inhibitor. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi inhibitor korosi kerak dan inhibitor antimikroba terhadap laju korosi baja AISI 1010 sebagai material pendingin sekunder RSG-GAS di dalam media air PAM Puspiptek dengan variasi konsentrasi 0 ppm, 75 ppm, 100 ppm, dan 150 ppm. Analisis laju korosi menggunakan alat potensiostat kemudian dikarakterisasi dengan menggunakan FTIR dan XRD. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan laju korosi terendah pada konsentrasi 150 ppm untuk inhibitor korosi kerak dan 0 ppm untuk inhibitor antimikroba. Pengujian FTIR menunjukkan adanya gugus fungsi pada inhibitor yang menempel pada permukaan baja.

RSG-GAS secondary colling system is an open resirculation cooling system that means the components of the cooling system directly interact with oxygen from the surrounding or opened air. The interaction with oxygen caused oxidation/corrosion process. One of the handling corrosion in secondary cooling system is adding crust corrosion inhibitor and antimicrobe inhibitor. The purpose of this research is to found the effect of crust corrosion inhibitor and antimicrobe inhibitor for the corrosion rate of AISI 1010 steel in the PAM Puspiptek water with concentration variation 0 ppm, 75 ppm, 100 ppm, and 150 ppm. The corrosion rate analized with potensiostat instrument and characterized by FTIR and XRD. From this research founded the minimum corrosion rate for crust corrosion inhibitor is 150 ppm and 0 ppm for antimicrobe inhibitor. FTIR results indicated the fungtional group of inhibitor adsorb on the surface of steel.
