Abstract

Reverse time migration adalah metode yang memanfaatkan penjalaran gelombang secara dua arah dalam forward dan reverse. Pendekatan ini memberikan perbaikan terhadap metode migrasi sebelumnya, terutama dalam kasus struktur dengan dipping yang ekstrem dan kontras kecepatan yang tinggi. Walaupun memiliki kemampuan pencitraan yang lebih akurat, reverse time migration membutuhkan biaya yang mahal. Salah satu metode migrasi lain yaitu metode kirchhoff, yang didasarkan pada penjumlahan kurva difraksi (diffraction summation). Metode ini adalah metode yang umumnya digunakan industri pada saat ini. Telah dilakukan percobaan untuk membandingkan metode reverse time dan kirchhoff migration dengan menggunakan model sederhana dan model geologi yang kompleks. Dilakukan migrasi secara pre-stack dalam domain kedalaman. Dari hasil migrasi diperoleh bahwa metode reverse time migration terbukti menghasilkan citra yang lebih baik dibandingkan metode kirchhoff migration, dengan menghasilkan model yang terlihat lebih jelas pada batas perlapisan dengan keterbatasan yang ada.

Reverse time migration is a method that utilizes wave propagation in two directions in forward and reverse. This approach improves previous migration methods, especially in the case of extreme dipping structures and high velocity contrast. Despite having more accurate imaging capabilities, reverse time migration is expensive method. One other migration method is kirchhoff method, that based on diffraction summation. This method is commonly used by industry at this time. Experiments have been conducted to compare reverse time and kirchhoff migration using simple models and complex geological settings. Migration perfomed in pre-stack and depth Migration. From the migration results that have been obtained reverse time migration method proved to produce a better image than kirchhoff migration, by producing a clearly data model on the boundary with a few limitations.
