Abstract

========================================================================================================================Perintis vessel has a purpose for the efficiency of passengers and cargos in small islands in eastern Indonesia, with 36 crew members, 499 passengers in need of large water needs. One solution for obtaining clean drinkable water on the vessel is to use a distillation apparatus. The power to be used for the evaporator is planned to come from the solar cell that is loaded into the battery. This distillation device system uses a batch system where the sea water used is not continuous, but a one work process. The evaporator has a diameter of 1000 mm x 1700 mm and a one work evaporation capacity of 315.45 kg. The top deck area of the ship that can be fitted with solar cells based on boundary results is 209.98 m2. However, solar cells that can be installed is 70 units and assembled in parallel. The economical value of sea water utilization into fresh water applied to the 2000 GT pioneer vessel is less favorable because the initial investment cost of Rp 401,625,000.00 does not return during the use of distillation apparatus for 10 years. However, if the clean water crisis that often occurs for example in Ambon then this system will help during perintis vessel.
