Abstract

In the multi-predictor regression, the response variable can have a certain relationship pattern with one or more predictors, but with other predictors, it is unknown to form the relationship pattern. In such cases, it is advisable to use a semiparametric regression approach. In semiparametric regression, the components nonparametric can be approximated by Spline. One of the advantages of Spline is the presence of knots points that handle changes in data behavior patterns. To complete estimation of the interval the model parameters is used Maximum Likelihood optimization and construct the shortest confidence interval for model parameters with linear truncated Spline approach using Pivotal Quantity. It is assumed that the population variance is unknown then obtain Pivotal Quantity. The estimation of interval shortest the parameters of the semiparametric regression model The linear truncated spline. The estimators a parameter of semiparametric regression model the linear truncated spline is given by: with is parametric component parameter estimator and is parametric component parameter estimator. The application of estimation of interval the model's parameter on human development index data in Moluccas Islands, the best semiparametric Spline Truncated Regression selected linear model is three knots. Of the five predictor variables analyzed in this study, its relation to the human development index in Moluccas Islands obtain the results of all predictors have a significant effect on the human development index in the Moluccas Islands. Based on the modeling using linear spline truncated on index data of human development in Moluccas Islands obtained optimal values GCV 0,346 and coefficient of determination equal to 99,97%.
