Abstract

=================================================================

CTCM Production Unit is a critical production unit in the CRM Factory which plays an important role of reducing thickness. The Condition of CTCM Production Units is not yet optimal because the production unit experiences a high breakdown time. The impact of breakdown time is the production time of CTCM Production Units are production time loss 482 hours in 2015, shortage mill concerns on production units ECL 1 and ECL 2, and high factory maintenance costs. The implications of these problems are the CTCM Production Unit requires an effective maintenance activity to reduce breakdown time and maintenance costs. The method used to determine the maintenance activities for the CTCM Production Unit is the Realibility Centered Maintenance II (RCM II). This method is chosen because in determining the maintenance activity, RCM II evaluates each failure mode based on important consequence aspects such as hidden, safety, environment and operational. The handling of each failure mode is effective because of the variations in function and variables that cause the failure of the various CTCM Production Units. The steps taken are FMEA analysis, failure mode evaluation with RCM II Decision Diagram, determining appropriate maintenance activities, calculating maintenance intervals for each type of maintenance activity, cost analysis and sensitivity analysis. The results of RCM II analysis are there are eight failure modes can be handled by Schedule on Condition, eleven failure modes can be handled by Schedule on Restoration, three failure modes handled Schedule on Discard and six failure modes handled by Failure Finding Interval. The results of improvement interval suggestions obtained a reduction in repair costs of 0.71%, equivalent to Rp 7,423,598, and increased system reliability by 41.19%.
