Abstract

Dementia is a disease of the brain in the degradation of the ability to think or process information to remember and keep the memory, which affects over 65 year old people with several factors, which affect people with dementia experiences disorientation of time and space. Therefore, it takes a rehabilitation center that can accommodate the daily activities of people with dementia with architectural elements that are focused on the limitations of weakness’ sufferers.
Associated with the architecture, where its basic nature is attending people need, in this case the author tries to find a way out in the form of architectural objects as a place of healing for people with dementia. Quoted from Dementia Design Sourcebook by John Fung Chye, "Good people naturally flow helps to provide supervision for elderly and dementia residents," that actually smelting activities the internal dementia sufferers, with the surrounding urban communities can accelerate the recovery. In this case, the selection of the most common urban area is a public park, which can bring the atmosphere of a familiar space even for people with dementia themselves.
Through the disjunctive and superimposition method by Bernard Tschumi, with the approach of healing architecture, architectural objects end result will be an area that integrates two function rooms, the rehabilitation center for dementia and public gardens, which can create interactions between the two users in the interconnect space program space in it. In this architectural objects will be created elements stimulant activity of the advantages and disadvantages of existing rehabilitation centers then supported by the existence of a public park in the same region.
