Abstract

====================================================
The Mojokerto-Kertosono toll road is crossing Brantas River in Gedeg sub-district, Mojokerto, so the bridge along the 299 m is required. The bridge construction has potential to cause local scouring at river bed and also the changes in river morphology. Therefore, it is necessary to study the transport capacity and local scour at the river cross section due to the bridge piers.
In this final project, the calculation of the flood discharge design used the Gumbel method. In the local scour analysis used the Hydraulic Design – Bridge Scoure module in the Hec-Ras 5.0.3 program to predict the scour depth. While the sediment transport analysis was calculated by sediment modeling in the Hec-Ras 5.0.3 program.
The results of this study obtained flood discharge designs in Brantas river for 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, 25 years, 50 years, and 100 years respectively were 1,213.58 m3/s, 1,444.48 m3/s, 1,597. 36 m3/s, 1,790.53 m3/s, 1,933.83 m3/s, 2,076.07 m3/s. The effect from the contraction scour before the bridge was built with 100 years discharge design is 0.47 m deep scour that occurred on the right side of the river cross section. Meanwhile, after the bridge was built, it is estimated that scouring due to contraction scour and piers become 7.4 m, this depth is approach the analytical result which is 8.07 m. The cumulative sediment transport volume before the bridge was built is 386,551 m3 and the average of river bed lowering is 1.03 m. Whereas after the bridge was built, the cumulative transport volume of sediment that transported is 569,775 m3 with the average of river bed lowering is 1.51m.
