Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini, pembuatan film plastik biodegradable dengan metode solution casting telah dilakukan. Bahan-bahan yang digunakan antara lain NaOH, NaOCl, pati, gliserin, dan aquades. Selulosa yang telah diekstraksi digunakan pada pembuatan film plastik. Ekstraksi selulosa menggunakan variasi konsentrasi NaOH saat delignifikasi sebesar 15%, 20%, dan 25%, dengan waktu 30, 60, dan 90 menit. Sedangkan pembuatan film plastik menggunakan variasi perbandingan gliserin dan selulosa sebesar 1:0, 1:3, dan 1:6. Karakterisasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan pengujian Spektrofotometri Uv-Vis, Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR), dan Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa delignifikasi pada suhu 200oC dengan konsentrasi alkali NaOH 20% dalam waktu 60 menit mampu menghasilkan selulosa alpha dengan kemurnian 68,15%. Dan hasil pengujian mekanik DMA menunjukkan penambahan selulosa dapat meningkatkan modulus elastisitas. Pada film plastik dengan perbandingan gliserin dan selulosa 1:0, 1:3, dan 1:6 secara berturut-turut modulus elastisitasnya 97MPa, 2.400MPa, dan 4.400 MPa. ================================================================= In this research, fabrication of plastic biodegradable by using solution casting method were finished. The raw material used in this experiments were NaOH, NaOCl, starch, glycerin, and aquades. Cellulose from corn cobs had extracted were used in fabrication of film plastic. Extraction cellulose using consentration of NaOH 15%, 20%, and 25%, with time 30, 60, and 90 minute in delignification method. While fabrication of film plastic using comparison of glycerin and cellulose 1:0, 1:3, and 1:6. The sample characterized by using Uv-Vis Spektrophotometer, Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR), dan Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA). From delignification method with temperature 200oC, concentration of NaOH 20%, and time 60 minute showed this method can produce alpha cellulose 68,15% . Cellulose were increased in the fabrication of film plastic, can increase modulus of elasticity. In the fabrication of film plastic using comparison of glycerin and cellulose 1:0, 1:3, and 1:6 sequentially the modulus of elasticity 97MPa, 2.400MPa, and 4.400MPa.
