Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh waktu hidrotermal pada sintesis zeolit Na-P dari kaolin Bangka Belitung. Sintesis zeolit Na-P diawali dengan preparasi metakaolin, dilanjutkan dengan proses pembuatan gel, pemeraman, dan diikuti proses hidrotermal. Waktu hidrotermal yang digunakan yaitu 24, 48, dan 72 jam dengan suhu 100 °C. Padatan hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi menggunakan FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared), XRD (X-Ray Diffraction), dan Scanning Electron Microscopy–Energy Dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX). Hasil karakterisasi XRD dan FTIR menunjukkan bahwa sintesis zeolit Na-P melalui fase metastabil zeolit X pada waktu hidrotermal 24 dan 48 jam. Fase zeolit Na-P murni terbentuk pada waktu hidrotermal 72 jam. Morfologi kristal menunjukkan adanya bentuk seperti bola palsu pada waktu hidrotermal 72 jam dimana morfologi ini diketahui sebagai morfologi dari zeolit Na-P. Waktu hidrotermal mempengaruhi pembentukan kristal hasil sintesis.

The purpose of this research was to study the effect of hydrothermal time on synthesis of Na-P zeolite from kaolin Bangka Belitung. The synthesis of zeolite Na-P begined with preparation of metakaolin, making gel, aging, and followed by a hydrothermal process. The hydrothermal times used were 24, 48, and 72 at 100 °C. The solid product were characterized using FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared), XRD (X-Ray Diffraction), and Scanning Electron Microscopy–Energy Dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX). The results of characterization with XRD and FTIR indicate that synthesis of Na-P zeolite through metastable phase of zeolite X on hydrotermal times 24 and 48 hours. The phase of pure Na-P zeolite was formed on hydrotermal time 72 hours. Crystalline morphology showed the existence of rounded pseudo-spherical-like on hydrothermal time 72 hours where this morphology was known as the morphology of Na-P zeolite. The hydrothermal time affects the formation of the synthesized crystals.
