Abstract

======================================================================

The main objective of this final project is to analysis the technical and economical from aplication of robotic welding for jacket structure on offshore. Firstly, conventional welding process was observed. Secondly, technical analysis of using the combination of robotic welding and conventional welder was done. Thirdly, economical analysis of robotic welding and conventional welder. Thirdly, economical analysis of robotic welding aplication was done. The result are : 1) Cost reduction, 2) High productivity, 3) High quality, 4) Flexible product. Technically, welding robot is capable of welding on a joint brace type K, T, Y, dan X on a jacket structure at speeds 2 times faster than conventional welding. From the economic analysis of conventional welding process replaced by robotic welding, obtained the total operational cost for one project in one year which is equal to Rp. 1.181.000.000 while the total operational cost on conventional welding is equal. So welding costs can be saved by 44% or Rp. 933.566.020, - of conventional welding operational costs. Revenues from other project savings are estimated at 50% of robotic welding saving that is equal to Rp 466,793,010,-. Total investment cost incurred by the company for the procurement of 3 unit of robotic welding is Rp 6.903596.000,-, with payback period in 7 years and 1 month.
