Abstract

Fuel vehicles have at least three flaws: low efficiency, emissions gas emissions, and non-renewable energy use. Therefore, the technology needed to reduce fuel consumption without reducing the performance of the vehicle. One of the right technologies to overcome this is a hybrid drive system, which is still rarely applied to motorcycles. To enable the hybrid system to function, the planetary gear will become the power hub.
Modeling of hybrid motorcycle used in this research will be simulated in matlab software using simscape / simdriveline module. There are 2 driving cycles and 2 motor fuel operating conditions used in the simulation: first, ECE 15 driving cycles with engines operate at turns 0 and > 800 rpm; And the second, Extra Urban Driving Cycle with engines operate at round 0 and> 800 rpm.
The results of simulation analysis on modeling, fuel consumption of hybrid motorcycle at the time of engine operates at rotation> 800 rpm decreases 40% and 5.6% in the ECE 15 and EUDC driving cycle respectively. The Extra Urban Driving Cycle speed is high and the idling time is less than the ECE 15 driving cycle. Therefore, the reduction in fuel consumption is not significant on EUDC. This means it is very appropriate to use a hybrid motorcycle with the initial mode of the electric motor (or engine work in the middle speed) when the driving cycle of many situations stop and go with low speeds such as urban areas.
