Abstract

La0,6Sr0,4Co0,2Fe0,8O3 (LSCF 6428), CeO2 dan NiO telah lama dikenal sebagai katalis pengoksidasi. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan pengkajian aktivitas katalitik dari kombinasi LSCF 6428-CeO2 dan LSCF 6428-NiO pada reaksi oksidasi metana dalam kondisi tanpa oksigen. Oksida perovskit LSCF 6428 disintesis dengan metode solid state. Hasil identifikasi dengan difraksi sinar-X menunjukkan bahwa katalis yang dihasilkan merupakan oksida perovskit. Serbuk LSCF 6428,CeO2dan NiOdibentuk menjadi granul padat berdiameter ±1 mm. Granul tersebut kemudian diaktivasi dengan mengalirkan O2 selama ± 60 menit pada suhu 600 oC. Reaksi katalisis kemudian dilakukan dengan hanya mengalirkan metana pada suhu 600 oC. Hasil reaksi dianalisis menggunakan GC Agilent HP 6890 dengan kolom HP 19095P-Q04 dan detektor FID. Hasil reaksi menunjukkan bahwa LSCF 6428 mampu mengkonversi 49,26-50,03% metana tanpa tambahan oksigen selama lima jam reaksi. Penambahan CeO2 meningkatkan konversi CH4 menjadi 53,50%, namunpenambahan NiO menurunkankonversi metana. =================================================================== The addition effect of CeO2 and NiO inperovskite oxide La0,6Sr0,4Co0,2Fe0,8O3 (LSCF 6428) on catalytic activity was studied for partial oxidation of methane under the reaction conditions at 600 ºC for 5 hours without oxygen. Perovskite oxide LSCF 6428 was prepared by solid state method. XRD analysis showed that catalystwas synthesized have single phase perovskite-type oxide. Prior to the catalytic activity, perovskite oxide, CeO2 and NiO were formed into granular shape with ± 1 mm in diameter. Granules are activated by oxygen flowing for 60 minutes at 600 ºC. Then, the catalysis reaction carried out by simply draining methane at 600 ºC. The products of the reaction were analyzed using gas chromatography (GC) Agilent HP 6890 Series equipped with HP 19095P-Q04 columns and Flame Ionization Detector (FID).LSCF 6428 showed catalytic avtivity in methane oxidation reaction and stable for up to five hours of reaction at 600 ºC with methane conversion range at 49.26-50.03 %. The addition of CeO2to LSCF 6428 enhanced methane conversion to 53,50% in the five hours of rection while addition of NiO reduce the conversion.
