Abstract

Saat ini, sumber energi baru dan terbarukan (EBT) menjadi topik penelitian yang terus ditingkatkan. Upaya mencari sumber energi alternatif sebagai pengganti bahan bakar fosil masih ramai diperbincangkan. Indonesia yang secara geografis terletak pada garis khatulistiwa mempunyai potensi energi surya yang begitu besar. Hal itu belum bisa dimanfaatkan secara optimal dikarenakan masih terkendala konversi modul PV yang relatif masih rendah. Salah satu solusi yang ditawarkan adalah melengkapi panel surya dengan sistem penjejak matahari dan algoritma Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). Metode sistem penjejak matahari mengupayakan panel PV untuk selalu tegak lurus dengan arah datangnya sinar matahari, sedangkan MPPT berfungsi untuk menelusuri daya maksimal yang mungkin dihasilkan PV pada berbagai kondisi klimatik. Pada penelitian ini dirancang MPPT berbasis Fuzzy-Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) yang diintegrasikan dengan sistem panel PV kondisi fixed dan tracking untuk meningkatkan konversi daya modul PV. PSO berperan dalam pencarian parameter fungsi keanggotaan terbaik dari fuzzy yang dirancang berdasarkan fungsi objektif yang telah ditetapkan yaitu Mean Square Error (MSE). Hasilnya MPPT Fuzzy-PSO solar tracker dapat meningkatkan keluaran daya dari PV sebesar 28,84% selama 10 jam operasi dibandingkan MPPT Fuzzy-PSO fixed system.

Nowadays, renewable energy is becoming a research topic that is constanly being improved. Efforts to find alternative energy sources as a substitute for fossil fuels are still continue to be discussed. Indonesia is geographically located on the equator has the potential of solar energy is so great. It can’t be utilized optimally because it is still constrained conversion of PV modules are still relatively low. One of the solution offered is to fit up solar panels with solar tracking system and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm. The method of solar tracking system seeks PV panels to always perpendicular to the direction of sunlight, whereas MPPT serves to trace the maximum power PV may produce in various climatic conditions. In this study, MPPT-based Fuzzy-Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) which integrates with fixed and tracking PV panel system to increase PV module power conversion. PSO plays a role in the search for the best fuzzy membership function parameters designed based on the defined objective function ie Mean Square Error (MSE). The result shows that MPPT Fuzzy-PSO solar tracker can increase the power output from PV by 28.84% for 10 hours operation compared with MPPT Fuzzy-PSO fixed system.
