Abstract

Tren berkebun semakin banyak dilakukan oleh masyarakat, khususnya di wilayah perkotaan. Berdasar survei CV Rekayasa Agro Teknologi pada Desember tahun 2016 terhadap 217 orang, dengan keterbatasan lahan di kota, para pehobi (53%) dan pelaku bisnis (47%) memilih cara hidroponik, yaitu metode budidaya tanaman menggunakan larutan nutrisi mineral dalam air dan tanpa menggunakan media tanam tanah atau biasa disebut soilless culture. Banyaknya peminat hidroponik dapat dilihat dari terbentuknya komunitas hidroponik di berbagai kota yang tersebar diseluruh Indonesia serta antusiasme masyarakat yang tinggi di acara rutin tahunan ‘Gathering Hidroponik Nasional’. Untuk mendukung aktivitas hidroponik diperlukan adanya perlengkapan pendukung. Sarana berkebun hidroponik yang sudah ada memiliki beberapa permasalahan dalam penggunaannya, antara lain : kesulitan saat sterilisasi alat, kesulitan servis pompa, serta peletakan di lahan yang tersedia. Permasalahan tersebut dapat menjadi peluang untuk menghasilkan desain yang mudah dipahami serta sesuai dengan kebutuhan penghobi, terutama bagi pemula. Untuk membuat desain yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna dilakukan beberapa metode pengumpulan data primer dengan cara interview, laddering, artefact analysis, dan diary studies. Data tersebut memberikan informasi mengenai pengguna (subyek desain) meliputi demografi, kebiasaan, kesukaan, permasalahan penggunaan modul hidroponik dan informasi mengenai modul hidroponik (obyek desain), sehingga dapat mengetahui kebutuhan pengguna. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa konsep desain yaitu sarana berkebun hidroponik yang memudahkan dalam penanaman (easy grow) dengan memberikan tambahan tray semai untuk aktivitas penyemaian dengan sistem vertikultur hidroponik alir yang disusun vertikal, desain yang memudahkan dalam perawatan (simple maintenance) yaitu membuat instalasi pompa terpisah dengan struktur penyangga utama dan reservoir dapat dilepas-pasang, desain yang memudahkan dalam memantau pertumbuhan tanaman serta pencahayaan (easy control system) dengan metode rotasi otomatis, serta desain multi sistem yaitu dapat digunakan untuk sistem alir maupun sistem statis sehingga dapat digunakan penghobi pemula. Hydroponic enthusiasts are increasing every years, can be seen from hydroponic communities in various cities scattered throughout Indonesia as well as high public interest in the annual routine 'National Hydroponic Gathering'. Required equipment to support hydroponics activity. Existing hydroponic gardening facilities have some problems in their use, including difficulties during tool sterilization, pump service difficulties, and laying on available land. From these problems can be a design opportunity that requires a design that is easy to understand and in accordance with user needs, especially for beginners. In making the design that suits the needs of users conducted some methods of collecting primary data by interview, laddering, artefact analysis, and diary studies. From these data can be obtained information about the user (design subject) include demographics, habits, likes, problems using hydroponic modules and information about the hydroponic module (design object), so as to know the needs of users. From the research, there are several design concepts such as hydroponic gardening tools that facilitate easy planting by giving additional seedling tray for seeding activity with vertical arranged vertical hydroponic verticulture system, simple maintenance design which is to make separate pump installation with The main buffer structure and the detachable reservoir, a design that facilitates easy monitoring of the system by automatic rotation method, as well as multi-system design that can be used for flow system and static system so it can be used by beginner.
