Abstract

The study of the strength on the mooring connection construction is very important because the mooring system will keep the platform position to remain in a predetermined position. The study of the strength on the construction focused on the foundation of the winch, where the maximum of Von Misses stress, strain and safety factor as the reference. The study begins with the hull of the PLTAL platform modeled with MOSES 7.0 software for structural response analysis and its output which will be used as input on ORCAFLEX 9.2 software for maximum stress analysis that occurs on each mooring line. Maximum stress obtained from each load scenario. The maximum stress occurring in the collinier scenario is 327.04 kN in nylon rope while 437.62 kN in the chain. For the maximum stress that occurs in non-collinier scenario of 285.65 kN on nylon rope while 375.34 kN in the chain. This research uses Finite Element Method. After getting the maximum tension line that occurs, then do the modeling winch using SolidWork 2016 software that will hold the nylon rope that is connected to the buoy. The result of simulation shows that Von Misses stress is 175,46 MPa, while safety factor is 2,6. So the foundation of the winch is able to withstand the attraction due to the environmental load that occurs and is safe when extreme conditions occur.
