Abstract

Untuk meningkatkan perkerasan jalan di Indonesia terdapat beberapa hal yang harus diperhatikan, seperti pada kualitas aggegat, metode pelaksanaan dan kualitas aspal. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini mengenai penambahan limbah plastik yang dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap parameter marshall pada lapis aspal beton (LASTON). Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini dengan cara pencampuran basah yaitu pencampuran secara langsung material plastik ke dalam aspal panas sesuai dengan suhu campuran berdasarkan parameter Tait, kemudian ditambahkan aggregat. Kadar Aspal Optimum (KAO) yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 5,7 %. Variabel yang digunakan adalah 5%, 7%, dan 9% plastik di subtitusi pada nilai kadar optimum aspal yang digunakan, dengan variasi plastik 100% High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), 100% Polyprophylene (PP), dan campuran HDPE:PP (50:50), kemudian dilakukan pengujian Marshall. Dari hasil uji yang dilakukan meliputi stabilitas, Flow, VIM, VFA, VMA, hingga nilai Marshall Quoetion (MQ) diketahui bahwa dengan semakin banyak plastik yang ditambahkan maka semakin besar nilai MQ yang didapat. Hasil terbaik didapat pada variabel penambahan 9% plastik PP dengan peningkatan nilai MQ sebesar 179% dari aspal normal.

For the increase of pavement in Indonesia there are some things that must be taking seriously, for example the quality of aggregates, implementation techniques, and quality of asphalt. As the research problem in this case is addition of plastic bottle waste can give effect to marshall characteristic on concrete asphalt layer (LASTON). The method used for this research by wet process, which is method of direct mixing of plastic material into asphalt is heated at temperature according to Tait parameter, then aggregate added. The optimum asphalt content used in this research was 5.7%. Variables used were 5%, 7%, and 9% of the plastic in the substitution on the value of the optimum levels of the asphalt which is used, with 100% High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, 100% Polyprophylene (PP), HDPE: PP and mixtures (50:50), then conducted Marshall test. From the results of tests performed include stability, Flow, VIM, VFA, VMA, up to the value of the Marshall Quoetion (MQ). Note that with more plastic is added cause the greater the value of the MQ. The best results were obtained on the variable addition 9% plastics PP with an increase in the value of the MQ 179% then normal asphalt.
