Abstract

Part Commonality adalah strategi penggunaan komponen yang sama untuk beberapa jenis produk yang berbeda. Samsung adalah perusahaan yang memproduksi smartphone android dengan pangsa pasar terbesar di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh penerapan part commonality terhadap smartphone android Samsung. Analisis didasarkan pada total biaya yang meliputi pembelian komponen dengan skema potongan harga, biaya persediaan dan biaya transportasi. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap lima jenis smartphone android dan part commonality diterapkan untuk tiga komponen yaitu kabel data, adaptor dan mea rear. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa part commonality dapat memberikan penghematan yang signifikan jika diterapkan pada empat jenis smartphone, sedangkan terdapat satu jenis smartphone yang sebaiknya tetap menggunakan komponen eksisting. Selain itu, seluruh pengiriman komponen dari luar negeri menggunakan transportasi jalur laut dengan kapasitas FCL (full container load) shipment 20 feet. Penerapan part commonality pada keempat jenis smartphone Samsung tersebut dapat mengurangi safety stock, penurunan frekuensi pemesanan, penurunan biaya transportasi dan mengurangi jumlah jenis item komponen pada manajemen persediaan.

Part Commonality is a strategy using the same components for different types of products. Samsung is a company which produces android smartphone with the largest market share in Indonesia. This research analyzes the effect of implementation part commonality to Samsung's android smartphone. The analysis is based on total costs that include purchasing components with discounted schemes, inventory costs and transportation costs. This research was conducted to five types of android smartphone and part commonality applied to three components that is data cable, adapter and mea rear. The calculation results show that the part commonality can increase significant savings which applied to four types of smartphones, while there is one type of smartphone use the existing component. All shipments of components from abroad use sea transport with capacity of FCL (full container load) shipment 20 feet. The implementation of part commonality to all four types of Samsung smartphones can reduce safety stocks, decrease the frequency of orders, decrease transportation costs and reduce the number of items of components on inventory management.
