Abstract

Penelitian kelayakan laminasi Bambu Betung sebagai material utama membangun kapal ikan terus-menerus dikembangkan di Indonesia. Bambu sebagai material orthotropik mempunyai tiga sumbu arah serat, hal ini dapat mempengaruhi distribusi beban yang diterima oleh konstruksi kapal. Beberapa penelitian sebelumnya telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui kekuatan mekanis bambu laminasi, namun hanya arah serat longitudinal. Sehingga penelitian arah serat radial dan tangential perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui sifat mekanis laminasi Bambu Betung secara keseluruhan dalam segi kekuatan konstruksi kapal ikan. Sifat mekanis laminasi bambu Betung didapatkan dengan melakukan pengujian uji tarik dan tekuk berdasarkan standar ASTM D3500 untuk uji tarik dan ASTM D3043 sebagai standar uji tekuk. Setelah didapatkan nilai kuat tarik dan tekuk maka dilakukan perhitungan ukuran konstruksi berdasarkan rule Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia untuk mendapatkan ukuran konstruksi kapal ikan dengan kapasitas 20 GT Pengujian aspek kekuatan konstruksi kapal dilakukan dengan pemodelan struktur menggunakan pendekatan Finite Element Method (FEM). Hasil dari pemodelan struktur menunjukkan distribusi tegangan yang diterima oleh seluruh bagian konstruksi yang terdapat pada kapal Hasil pengujian menunjukkan nilai kuat tarik variasi arah radial sebesar 51,15 MPa, nilai kuat tarik arah tangential sebesar 65,60 MPa, dan nilai kuat tekuk variasi arah tangential sebesar 124,95 MPa., Hasil running pemodelan struktur menunjukkan beban terbesar yang diterima oleh kapal yaitu sebesar 27,60 Mpa. Setelah melakukan analisis hot spot bagian gading kapal yang mendapat stress terbesar yaitu pada bagian bottom buritan kapal.

The feasibility research of Betung bamboo lamination as the main material to build fishing vessels is continuosly developed in Indonesia. Bamboo as an orthotropic material has three fiber axes, these can affect the load distribution received by the vessel construction. Some previous research has been conducted to investigate the mechanical properties of bamboo lamination, but only on the longitudinal strength. Therefore research on radial and tangential fiber direction should be done to know the mechanical properties of Betung bamboo lamination as a whole in terms of vessel construction strength. The mechanical properties of Betung bamboo are obtained by conducting tensile and flexure testing based on ASTM D3500 standard for tensile test and ASTM D3043 for flexure test standard. After obtaining the value of tensile and flexure strength, then the construction size is calculated based on the rule of Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia to get the size of the fishing vessel construction with a capacity of 20 GT. The testing of strength aspects of a vessel construction is conducted using structural modeling, with a Finite Element Method (FEM) approach. The result of structural modeling shows a stress distribution received by all parts of the construction contained in the vessel. The test results show the value of tensile strength of radial direction variation equal to 51,15 MPa, tensile strength of tangential direction equal to 65,60 MPa and flexure strength of tangential direction variation equal to 124.95 MPa. The running test result of structure modeling shows the biggest load received by the vessel that is equal to 27,60 MPa. After a hotspot analysis, the frame of the vessel that gets the greatest stress is on the bottom of after-peak section.
