Abstract
Perpindahan panas dengan konveksi pada fluida nano yang melalui suatu benda (plat, silinder, kerucut, atau bola), pada umumnya dengan kasus benda dipanaskan atau didinginkan. Pada penelitian ini, membahas pengaruh pembangkitan panas dan konveksi campuran pada aliran fluida nano yang melalui permukaan silinder sirkular horizontal yang dipanaskan dalam bentuk dua dimensi. Aliran fluida bersifat tak mampu-mampat (imcompressible) dan dalam keadaan tunak (steady), aliran bergerak dari bawah ke atas, dan daerah pengamatan di titik stagnasi terendah. Partikel nano yang digunakan adalah Cu, Al2O3, dan TiO2. Aliran fluida nano pada permukaan silinder sirkular menimbulkan lapisan batas. Persamaan lapisan batas yang diperoleh berupa persamaan similaritas dengan menggunakan fungsi alir (stream function). Penyelesaian dari persamaan similaritas dilakukan secara numerik dengan menggunakan metode beda-hingga implisit skema Keller-Box. Hasil penelitian dengan memvariasi parameter konveksi campuran (λ), bilangan Prandtl (Pr), nanoparticle volume fraction (χ), sumber panas (Q), dan jari-jari silinder (a) adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, peningkatan parameter konveksi campuran (λ) mengakibatkan peningkatan profil kecepatan, dan penurunan profil temperatur. Kedua, peningkatan parameter bilangan Prandtl (Pr) mengakibatkan penurunan profil kecepatan dan temperatur. Ketiga, peningkatan parameter nanoparticle volume fraction (χ) menyebabkan peningkatan profil kecepatan pada saat nilai χ adalah 0,1≤χ≤0,15 dan penurunan profil kecepatan pada saat nilai χ adalah 0,19<χ≤0,5 serta peningkatan profil temperatur. Keempat, peningkatan parameter sumber panas (Q) dan jari-jari silinder (a) mengakibatkan peningkatan profil kecepatan dan temperatur. Keenam, partikel nano Cu, Al2O3, dan TiO2 menghasilkan profil kecepatan dan temperatur yang sama, tetapi ketiga jenis partikel nano tersebut berbeda pada nilai kecepatan (f^' ) dan nilai temperaturnya (T). ================= Heat transfer by convection in nanofluids past a object (plate, cylinder, cone, or sphere) is generally the cases of a heated or cooled object. The purpose of this reseach is to study the effect of heat generation on mixed convection flow of nanofluids over a horizontal circular cylinder of a heated in two dimension form. A stream of fluids are steady and incompressible, a stream flowing vertically upwards for circular cylinder and the boundary layer at the stagnation point. Three different types of nanoparticles considered are Cu, Al2O3, and TiO2. Mixed convection flow in nanofluid on the surface of a circular cylinder will cause the boundary layer. The boundary layer equations are similarity equations by using stream function. Furthermore, an implicit finite-difference scheme known as the Keller-box method is applied to solve numerically the resulting similar boundary layer equations. The result of the research by varying the non-dimensional parameters are mixed convection (λ), Prandtl number (Pr), nanoparticle volume fraction (χ), heat generation (Q) , and radius of cylinder (a) are as follows. First, the velocity profile increase and temperature profile decrease when mixed convection parameter increase. Second, the velocity and temperature profiles decreases when Prandtl number parameter increase. Third, the velocity profile with the variation of nanoparticle volume fraction (χ) is increase when the value of χ is 0,1≤χ≤0,19 and the velocity profile decrease when the value of χ is 0,19<χ≤0,5 while the temperature profile is increase when the value of χ is 0,1≤χ≤0,5. Fourth, the velocity and temperature profiles increase when heat generation and the radius of the cylinder increase. The last, Cu, Al2O3, and TiO2 nanoparticles produce the same velocity and temperature profiles, but the three types of nanoparticles are different at the velocity (f^' ) and temperature values (T).
