Abstract

================================================================================================================== Pipe leaks can cause financial losses for customers of water distribution systems. In general, to detect the location of pipeline leaks in the water distribution network using manual method, ie by looking at standing water on the installation of the pipe installed or with the reporting of leaking pipes from customers.
Therefore in this Final Project prototype made telemetering leakage pipe. Leakage can be known by using the method of comparison of measurement of water debit on two water flowmeter sensors. This method uses water flowmeter sensors placed before and after leakage. The leakage of the pipe is simulated with 2 water faucets, there are 2 points of leakage, so that the wasted water can be drained on the water source (tandon) and the water can circulate. Data obtained from sensor readings are sent to the computer using an Ethernet communication network and displayed on a PC with LabVIEW software.
After testing, the results show that both sensors have a difference value between inlet flow and outlet flow, indicating leakage. The result to detect pipeline leak successfully. Telemetering with the method of water discharge comparison on the water flowmeter sensor can find out how much leakage of water debit in the pipe, the value of sensor readout difference of 24 L / hour with leakage percentage of 6.9%.
