Abstract

Pelapisan kitosan dengan variasi suhu pada Stainless Steel tipe 304 secara elektroforesis telah diteliti. Kualitas hasil pelapisan dengan variasi suhu dikaji dari ketebalan lapisan kitosan dan laju korosinya dalam media NaCl 3%. Ketebalan lapisan kitosan meningkat dan laju korosi menurun dengan meningkatnya suhu proses elektroforesis. Pelapisan kitosan pada suhu 50oC menghasilkan ketebalan lapisan terbaik yaitu sebesar 49,73 ± 6,86 µm dan laju korosi terendah sebesar 0,00065 mpy. ============================================================================================ Chitosan coating with temperature variation on SS 304 by electrophoretic has been investigated. The coating quality was tested by chitosan’s thickness layer and corrosion resistance ability in NaCl 3%. Chitosan’s thickness layer is increasing and corrosion rate is decreasing by increasing the temperature of electrophoretic process. Chitosan coating at temperature 50oC results the most thickness layer, that is 49,73 ± 6,86 µm, and lowest corrosion rate, that is 0,00065 mpy.
