Abstract

============== The economic growth rate is directly proportional to electricity demand, but it is constantly not followed by the development of electrification ratio. Indonesia electrification ratio is approximately 70%-90%. In 2016, Kalimantan province is only achieved 84.87%. To increase electrification ratio, since 2017, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has planned to increase the supply of electricity, specifically in South Kalimantan and Middle Kalimantan system. One of the needed criteria is voltage stability. Voltage stability is an ability of a system to maintain the voltage in the permitted value after a disturbance occurred, if the system failed to maintain the disturbance it will soon follows to a phenomenon called voltage collapse that will leads to material loss. Load margin technique is used to measure the distance between operating point and collapse point. To maintain the voltage stability of a system an approach based on load margin and the development of alternate current optimal power flow is conducted by using sequential quadratic programming, titled voltage stability constrained optimal power flow (VSC-OPF). Based on the results, the minimal generator cost from nominal point until before collapse point could be known. It is managed to be used for next year recommendations to the South and Middle Kalimantan system, in order to maintain the voltage stability.
