Abstract

Drill pipe merupakan salah satu komponen pengeboran bawah laut yang berfungsi untuk memperpanjang rangkaian pengeboran. Drill pipe akan disambung satu demi satu hingga drill bit menyentuh dasar laut. Setelah menyentuh dasar laut drill pipe akan diberikan torsi. Di dalam proses pengeboran bawah laut terdapat gaya eksternal berupa tekanan air laut yang mengenai rangkaian pengeboran. Pemberian torsi dan tekanan air laut mengakibatkan terjadinya stress dan strain pada sambungan-sambungan drill pipe.
Pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisa stress dan strain pada setiap sambungan drill pipe dengan dua variasi yaitu, variasi diameter drill pipe dan variasi panjang drill pipe dimana setiap variasi terdapat 3 jenis grade drill pipe yang akan dibandingkan. Untuk perhitungannya meggunakan menggunakan metode elemen hingga.
Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan nilai stress dan strain drill pipe terkecil berdasarkan variasi panjang pipa saat spudding in terdapat pada drill pipe yang mempunyai panjang pipa 44,5 feet yaitu grade S-135 dengan nilai stress translasi pada node 20 sebesar 2,401 x 1010 dan strain translasi pada node 20 sebesar 0,120. Sedangkan nilai stress dan strain terkecil berdasarkan variasi diameter pipa saat drilling terdapat pada drill pipe dengan grade V-150 yang memiliki nilai stress translasi pada node 20 sebesar -5,277 x 109 dan strain translasi pada node 20 sebesar -0,026

Drill pipe is one component of underwater drilling that serves to extend the drilling sequence. Drill pipe will be connected one by one until the drill bit touches the seabed. After touching the seabed drill pipe will be given torque. In the process of underwater drilling there is an external force in the form of seawater pressure on the drilling sequence. Torsion and seawater pressure result in stress and strain on drill pipe connections.
In this research, stress and strain analysis on each drill pipe connection with two variations are variation of diameter drill pipe and variation of drill pipe length where each variation there are 3 types of drill pipe grade which will be compared. For calculations use the finite element method.
From the research results obtained the smallest stress and strain at the time of spudding in based on drill pipe length variation of S-135 grade with the value of stress translation at node 20 of 2.401 x 1010 and translational strain at node 20 of 0.120. While the value of stress and the smallest strain based on pipe diameter variation when drilling found on the drill pipe with grade V-150 which has the value of translation stress and translational strain of -5.277 x 109 and -0.026
