Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data kesetimbangan cair-cair sistem terner Eugenol + β-caryophyllene + Larutan NaOH yang diukur pada suhu 303,15 K. Peralatan yang digunakan adalah equilibrium cell yang dilengkapi dengan jaket pemanas. Jaket pemanas dialiri air yang disirkulasi melalui waterbath untuk menjaga suhu kesetimbangan. Data kesetimbangan diperoleh dengan mengaduk campuran komponen murni tersebut selama 4 jam dan kemudian didiamkan selama 20 jam agar kondisi kesetimbangan tercapai. Masing-masing sampel diambil secara terpisah untuk dianalisa komposisinya sebagai komposisi kesetimbangan menggunakan Gas Chromatography. Dari eksperimen pada sistem tersebut diperoleh diagram terner dengan tipe Treyball II. Data yang diperoleh dari masing-masing sistem dikorelasikan dengan persamaan NRTL dan UNIQUAC yang memberikan RMSD dari komposisi kesetimbangan masing-masing sebesar 4,27% dan 7,09%.============================================================================================================The liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data of ternary Eugenol + β-caryophyllene + NaOH solution was measured at temperature of 303,15 K using equilibrium cell equipped with jacketed heater. The experiment was started by adding certain compositions of ternary mixture into equilibrium cell and stirred by magnetic stirrer for 4 hours, then it was allowed to settle for 20 hours in order to separate into, organic and aqueous phases completely. The temperature of equilibrium cell was maintained at 303,15 K using circulated water through waterbath. The compositions of each phase were analyzed using Gas Chromatography. Eugenol + β-caryophyllene + NaOH Solution system exhibited Treyball type II phase behavior from immiscible area. The experimental data were correlated using NRTL and UNIQUAC giving RMSD between experimental composition and calculated ones of 4,27% and 7,09%.
