Abstract

=======================================================================================================
Hydrocarbons generated from underground can generally be explored through 3 phases of primary, secondary, and tertiary. The tertiary phase known as Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) involves a variety of advanced oil recovery methods to improve flow of oil in the reservoir. EOR uses the water injection method and CO2, known as Water Alternating Gas (WAG) is one of the effective methods by injecting gas and water alternately into injection wells. One of the advantages involving CO2 injection into the reservoir is to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and CO2 has a low density that can oush the oil to get out of the rock. However, the price of CO2 is very expensive. Therefore, this method is combined with water. Besides to reduce cost, water also serves to add oil thrust to production wells. Has been optimized WAG using Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) with optimized variable that isthe mass flow rate of injection fluid, injection pressure and injection temperature with consideration of minimum cost and maximum. Based on the results of optimization obtained the best results using PSO that can raise profit 58,60% from profit 24485,23 USD/day to 38840,88 USD/day.
