Abstract

============================================================================= The research entitled with "Synthesis and Characterization of LiFePO4/C From Natural Iron Sand With Variation of Carbon Coating" has been done using Iron Sand from Pulau Laut of South Kalimantan as the main material of the making of battery cathode. This research uses Solid State method. The variations used in this study were carbon from glucose mixed with weight ratio of 4%wt, 6%wt, 8%wt, 10%wt and 12%wt from the weight of LiFePO4. Characterization was performed using XRD, PSA, SEM and conductivity testing. XRD analysis results show that Olivin phase (LiFePO4) formed with LiFeP2O7, Fe2O3 and Li3PO4 as impurities. Conductivity Test results show that the results indicate the increase of carbon mass has a direct effect on the increase of material conductivity value. The optimum LiFePO4/C conductivity value found at 6%wt of LiFePO4, with conductivity value 7.3891x10-1 µS/m.
