Abstract

Modifikasi pada system propulsi banyak dilakukan demi memenuhi performa kapal. Salah satu kajian yang dilakukan adalah modifikasi pada system propulsi dengan penambahan Bulbous Stern. Penambahan Bulbous Stern akan berpengaruh terhadap tahanan kapal dan pola aliran yang dihasilkan. Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah besarnya nilai tahanan kapal dan pola aliran yang dihasilkan ketika kapal beroperasi dengan penambahan Bulbous Stern. Simulasi dilakukan dengan metode Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Berdasarkan hasil analisa Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) dapat dilihat bahwa nilai tahanan kapal pada kecepatan maximum 10 knot pada kondisi lambung kapal tanpa adanya Bulbous Stern sebesar 70.17 kN, pada kondisi lambung kapal dengan adanya tambahan Bulbous Stern sebesar 65.92 kN.==================================================================================================== Modifications to the propulsion system are mostly done to meet the performance of the ship. One of the studies conducted is modification to the propulsion system with the addition of Bulbous Stern. The addition of Bulbous Stern will affect the ship resistance and flow patterns generated. The focus of this study is the magnitude of the ship resistance and flow patterns generated when the ship operates with the addition of Bulbous Stern. The simulation is done by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. Based on the results of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis, it can be seen that the vessel resistance value at a maximum speed of 10 knots at hull condition in the absence of Bulbous Stern of 70.17 kN, on hull condition with the addition of Bulbous Stern of 65.92 kN.
