Abstract

One of the well-known is the Bribin underground river system in Gunung Kidul Regency. Dersono karst area, Pacitan is the eastern part of the Pegunungan Sewu system. The Dersono Pacitan karst area is similar to the Gunung Kidul karst area, allegedly also has a distinctive subsurface river system but it is not yet known how the development of the underground river system. This study aims to identify the development of underground river systems in the Dersono, Pacitan area based on the anomaly of resistivity values from geoelectric research using the VES (Vertical Electrical Sounding) method. Resistivity data retrieval was done as many as 14 VES points spread over two different locations with variation of distance between VES points by 5 s.d 15 meter. The configuration used is the Schlumberger configuration with a length of 200 and 260 meters. The results showed that there were low to high resistivity value anomalies of around 5782.4 Ohm.m and 3239.8 Ohm.m and identified as empty cavities or caves as much as two levels which were at a depth of 15-25 meters and 35-40 meters . The cavities or empty caves are suspected to develop due to the process of dissolution of rocks that occur in the vadose zone or above the groundwater level.
