Abstract

Heat Exchanger adalah suatu alat perpindahan panas dan bisa berfungsi sebagai pemanas maupun sebagai pendingin yang terdapat pada proses industri. Salah satu contohnya adalah crude preheat train yang merupakan jaringan penukar panas yang berfungsi untuk mengambil kembali panas dari fluida hasil proses untuk fluida bahan baku. Tipe heat exchanger yang banyak digunakan pada proses industri adalah shell and tube heat exchanger. Untuk mendapatkan nilai performansi optimal heat exchanger, dapat diketahui dengan meningkatkan nilai overall heat transfer coefficient. Salah satu cara meningkatkan overall heat transfer adalah dengan menggunakan berbagai tipe tube. Salah satu tipe tube yang digunakan adalah low-finned tube. Low-finned tube merupakan tipe tube dimana terdapat fin yang berfungsi sebagai alat penukar panas yang lebih efektif. Adapun variabel low-finned tube untuk setiap heat exchanger yang digunakan adalah fin height, fin thickness dan number of fin. Dari hasil optimisasi yang telah dilakukan didapatkan hasil overall heat transfer coefficient meningkat dengan rata-rata 15,67 (W/m2.K) dan tube pressure drop berkurang dengan rata-rata sebesar -7,43 kPa. =============================================================================================Heat Exchanger is a device that allows heat transfer and can serve as a heater as well as a cooling in industrial processes. One example is the crude preheat train which is a heat exchanger network that serves to take back the heat from the fluid to the fluid process results of raw material. Type of heat exchanger that is widely used in industrial processes is a shell and tube heat exchanger. To get the value of the optimal performance of heat exchanger, can be known by increasing the value of the overall heat transfer's. One of the ways to improve the overall heat transfer is to use various types of tube. One type of tube used is low-finned tube. Low-finned tube is a tube type where there are fin which functions as a heat exchanger that is more effective. As for variable low-finned tube heat exchanger for any used is the fin height, fin thickness, and number of fin. From the results of optimization has been done obtained results overall heat transfer's increase with an average of 15.67 (W/m2. K) and tube pressure drop decreases with an average of -7.43kPa.
