Abstract

The existence of an active baribical fault-kendeng fold-thrust zone in Surabaya
can potentially lead to potential earthquakes. The majority of its territory is
alluvium deposits. The extent of damage and dangers of earthquakes is strongly
influenced by local geological conditions. Several cases of earthquakes that have
occurred show that more severe damage occurs in alluvial plains compared with
hilly terrain. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the local site which is a disaster
risk reduction effort by analyzing all potential hazards in a region completely.
Local site evaluation is done by measuring soil dynamic parameters which is the
earth response to earthquake that is the speed of shear wave (Vs) and shear
modulus (G0). This study aims to determine the results of modeling Vs and G0
values and local tread conditions Surabaya. The study was conducted at 45 points
in Surabaya with multichannel analysis of surface wave method due to the high
accuracy and resolution of the near surface structure. This study used 24
geophones arranged lengthwise with a distance of 4 m and a distance of 5 m
offset. The acquisition is done with 5 shots and done with the duration of stacking
count 3 times. The results showed that the value of Vs30 Surabaya of 176 m / s
- 294 m / s is class category C and D based on Eurocode8. Distribution of low
Vs and G0 value modeling is 100-200 m / s and <100-200 Mpa thickening from
west to north and from east to south indicates low Vs and G0 value at 0-30 m
depth. Based on the results of processing can be drawn the conclusion that the
majority of Surabaya area, especially the northern region more risky to the effects
of earthquakes.
