Abstract

Heat exchanger adalah suatu alat termal yang digunakan dalam proses perpindahan panas dua fluida atau lebih yang memiliki temperatur berbeda tanpa terjadi perpindahan massa di dalamnya. Permasalahan pada heat exchanger yakni terbentuknya fouling yang menghambat proses perpindahan panas heat exchanger. Pembentukan fouling dapat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi operasi, yaitu kecepatan laju aliran fluida dan temperatur fluida. Laju aliran fluida pada heat exchanger yang mempunyai pengendalian temperature akan berubah-ubah yang disebabkan oleh set point keluaran temperatur heat exchanger. Dalam penelitian ini, dilakukan perancangan sistem pengendali untuk mendeteksi pengaruh sistem pengendali terhadap pembentukan fouling pada heat exchanger dengan menggunakan model heat exchanger dan model fouling yang dipengaruhi oleh perubahan set point dan disturbance. Didapatkan hasil bahwa sistem pengendali pada heat exchanger dapat mempengaruhi nilai perubahan fouling resistance dan koefisien perpindahan panas keseluruhan. Dengan kondisi perubahan naik sebesar 20%, pada perubahan set point berupa Tco, dan disturbance berupa Thi, Tci dan mc berturut turut, U fouling meningkat sebesar 7,76 W/m2°C, U fouling menurun sebesar 16,47 W/m2°C, U fouling menurun sebesar 4,71 W/m2°C, dan U fouling meningkat sebesar 9,98 W/m2°C.

Heat exchangers are a thermal apparatus used in heat transfer processes of two or more fluids having different temperatures without mass transfer in them. The problem with heat exchanger is the formation of fouling that inhibits heat exchanger heat transfer process. The formation of fouling can be affected by the operating conditions, ie the speed of the fluid flow rate and the temperature of the fluid. The fluid flow rate at the heat exchanger that has temperature control will vary due to the set of heat exchanger heat exit output points. In this research, the design of control system to detect the influence of control system on the formation of fouling on heat exchanger using heat exchanger model and fouling model influenced by set point and disturbance change. The result shows that the control system in heat exchanger can affect the value of change of fouling resistance and the overall heat transfer coefficient. With the change condition rising by 20%, at a set point change of Tco, and disturbance of Thi, Tci and mc respectively, U fouling increased by 7.76 W / m2 ° C, U fouling decreased by 16.47 W / m2 ° C, U fouling decreased by 4.71 W / m2 ° C, and U fouling increased by 9.98 W / m2 ° C.
