Abstract

Gas buang pada mesin diesel menghasilkan unsur polutan berupa Nitrogen Oksida (NOx), Sulfur Osida (SOx), Particulate Matter (PM), Karbon Monoksida (CO), dan Hidrokarbon (HC), yang berpotensi mencemari lingkungan sekitar dalam bentuk polusi udara. Berbagai upaya mereduksi emisi NOx dilakukan, diantaranya menggunakan SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system. SCR system merupakan teknolgi reduksi selektif secara katalitik yang digunakan untuk mereduksi gas buang berbahaya. Dalam penilitian ini akan dibandingkan emisi biodiesel minyak biji nyamplung menggunakan SCR system maupun tanpa menggunakannya. Pembuatan katalis memadukan material batu alam sebagai pengemban, sedangkan logam besi ditambahkan sebagai material pengisi. Dalam penilitian ini dilakukan percobaan menggunakan motor diesel satu silinder Yanmar TF85 MH-d dan standar MARPOL Annex VI. Hasil percobaan biodiesel minyak biji nyamplung menggunakan SCR system mempunyai nilai rata-rata NOx sebesar 7% lebih rendah dibandingkan nilai rata rata biodisel minyak biji nyamplung tanpa menggunakan SCR system. ====================================================================================================
Exhaust gas in diesel engines produces pollutant elements in the form of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx), Sulfur Osida (SOx), Particulate Matter (PM), Carbon Monoxide (CO), and Hydrocarbons (HC), which have the potential to pollute the surrounding environment in the form of air pollution. Various efforts to reduce NOx emissions were carried out, including using the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system. The SCR system is a catalytically selective reduction technology used to reduce harmful exhaust gases. In this research will compare the emissions of biodiesel nyamplung seed using the SCR system or without using it. Catalyst making combines natural stone material as a carrier, while iron metal is added as fill material. In this research, experiments were conducted using Yanmar TF85 MH-d one cylinder diesel engine and the standard MARPOL Annex VI. The results of the Nyamplung seed oil biodiesel experiment using the SCR system have an average NOx value of 7% lower than the average value of nyamplung seed oil biodiesel without using the SCR system.
