Abstract

Kualitas dari aluminium hasil pengecoran salah satunya dinilai dari sifat mekanik yang dimiliki oleh produk akhir hasil dari pengecoran tersebut. Sifat mekanik tersebut secara langsung akan dipengaruhi oleh jumlah cacat pengecoran dalam logam. Bifilm adalah salah satu cacat pengecoran yang belum cukup mendapat perhatian dalam dunia pengecoran saat ini. Cacat ini terbentuk akibat oksida yang melipat dan masuk ke dalam aluminium cair karena adanya olakan pada aluminium cair. Maka dari itu, perludilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh bifilm terhadap sifatmekanik dari aluminium hasil pengecoran.
Tujuan dari penelitian kali ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh
bifilm terhadap sifat mekanik dari hasil pengecoran paduan
aluminium ADC12. Penelitian ini dibagi menjadi 2 bagian utama yaitu pengecoran spesimen yang dilakukan bersamaan dengan Reduced Pressure Test (RPT) serta pengujian kekuatan tarik,impact strength, dan kekerasan. Pada saat proses pengecoran, aluminium cair akan diberi 3 perlakuan lama pengadukan yang berbeda dan akan dilakukan RPT pada sampel yang diambil dari masing-masing perlakuan tersebut. Dari perlakuan berbeda tersebut diharapkan akan diperoleh nilai bifilm index yang berbeda pada masing-masing sampel. Setelah spesimen terbentuk maka dilakukan uji tarik, impact, dan kekerasan.
Dari penelitian ini ditarik kesimpulan bahwa adanya bifilm memberi pengaruh terhadap kekuatan tarik, impact strength, serta kekerasan dari paduan aluminium ADC12. Meningkatnya nilai bifilm index akan menyebabkan menurunnya kekuatan tarik serta kekerasan dari paduan aluminium ADC12, sedangkan impact strength akan turun pada nilai bifilm index tertentu.

One of the ways to evaluate the quality of cast aluminum is
from its mechanical properties. These mechanical properties will be directly affected by the number of defects on the product. Bifilm is one of the casting defects that has not received enough attention in the casting world. This defect is formed by the oxide that folds and enters the molten aluminum due to the swirling of the aluminium liquid. Therefore, a research needs to be done on the effect of bifilm on the mechanical properties of cast aluminium. The goal of this research is to discover the effect of bifilm on the tensile strength, impact strength, and hardness of cast ADC12.

namely the casting of the samples which was carried out
simultaneously with Reduced Pressure Test (RPT) and the testing
of the tensile strength, impact strength, and the hardness of the
samples. At the time of casting, the molten aluminum will be
treated to three different stirring duration and RPT will be carried
out on the samples taken from each treatment. It is hoped that from
these different treatments, various value of bifilm index will be
obtained. After the samples are produced, tensile, impact, and
hardness tests are carried out on the samples.
From this research, it was concluded that the presence of bifilm
had an effect on the tensile strength, impact strength, and hardness
of ADC12 aluminum alloy. Increase of bifilm index will lower the
tensile strength and hardness of ADC12 aluminum alloy, while
impact strength will lower at certain value of bifilm index.
