Abstract

Modulasi GMSK ( Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying) adalah teknik
modulasi yang mengurangi spectrum sidelobe pada modulasi Minimum
Shift Keying (MSK) dengan cara melewatkan sinyal NRZ ke filter LPF
Gaussian. Teknik modulasi ini biasanya digunakan pada jaringan
komunikasi GSM. Pada Tugas Akhir ini dilakukan proses perancangan
dan implementasi modulasi dan demodulasi GMSK pada platform
WARP. Proses perancangan modulasi GMSK dilakukan melalui
pemrograman pada software MATLAB 2012. Sistem diimplementasi
pada modul WARPLab7. Jumlah bit yang dibangkitkan adalah 106800
bit. Sebelum sistem diimplementasikan pada modul WARP, sinyal hasil
ditambahkan dengan bit pilot dan preamble yang nantinya berguna
untuk mendeteksi data informasi di penerima. Setelah penambahan pilot
dan preamble, data di upsample terlebih dahulu kemudian dilakukan
proses upconvert agar dapat dikirimkan melalui WARP. Pengujian
implementasi sistem dilakukan dengan cara pengukuran nilai BER (Bit
Error Rate) secara real pada beberapa kondisi, diantaranya perbedaan
nilai BT, perbedaan jarak antara node pengirim dan node penerima dan
kondisi LOS (Line of Sight) dan NLOS (No Line of Sight). Berdasarkan
hasil pengujian didapatkan pada lingkungan indoor nilai BER terkecil
diperoleh pada jarak 4 meter kondisi LOS dengan TxRF sebesar -22.97
dBm dengan BER 6x10-6, sedangkan untuk lingkungan outdoor nilai
BER terkecil diperoleh pada jarak 6 meter kondisi LOS dengan TxRF
sebesar -22.97 dBm dengan BER 6.9x10-5.

Gaussian minimum shift keying (GMSK) modulation is a modulation
technique which reduce the spectrum sidelobe in minimum shift keying
(MSK) modulation by passing the NRZ signal to gaussian low pass
filter. This technique used in GSM network telecommunication. In this
project, design processing, modulation and demodulation GMSK
impelementation in WARP platform are done. Design processing of
GMSK modulation had done using software MATLAB 2012. The
system is implemented in WARPLab7 modul. Number of generated bits
are 106800. Before the system is implemented in WARP modul, the
result signal is added with pilot and preamble for information detection
in receiver. After that, the data is upsampled and the upconvert process
can be done and send thorugh WARP. System implementation test had
done with Bit Error Rate measurment in realtime in such a condition :
differences of BT value, differences of the range between the source
node and the receiver node in Line of Sight (LOS) and No Line of Sight
(NLOS) condition. In indoor test, the smallest BER in LOS condition is
achieved at range 4 meters with 6 x and TxRF -22.97 dBm. In
outdoor result, the smallest BER in LOS condition is achieved at range 6
meters with 6.9 x and TxRF -22.97 dBm.
