Abstract

Insiden malaria pada penduduk Indonesia tahun 2013 adalah 1,9
persen menurun dibanding tahun 2007. Sedangkan prevalensi malaria

The incidence of malaria in the Indonesian population in 2013
was 1,9% decline compared to 2007. While the prevalence of malaria in
2013 is 6%.. West Papua is a province with the third highest incidence
and prevalence in Indonesia, in 2013. However, West Papua
experienced a sharp increase in the number of malaria patients.efforts
are needed to tackle cases of malaria in West Papua, one of which was
determine the characteristics of the spread of malaria. statistical
methods are often used to obtain the characteristics of the spread of
malaria is logistic regression, but the result of the analysis was limites
to getting the model and factors that influence it, have not led to major
factor that cause the spread of malaria as well as the result of
classification accuracy. Then used CART approach with pre-processing
SMOTE to obtain the alleged dominant factor in influencing result of
household status clasiification against malaria in West Papua and can
increase the accuracy result. CART approach application shows that the
most important variable in optimal classification tree for classifying
status of households with malaria in West Papua Province is head of
household work. Classification accuracy produced by the tree optimal
for learning data is 65,3 percent while 68,7 percent for testing data.
