Abstract

Indonesia is the wealthy marine resources nation. Indonesia has the greatest marine biodiversity and non-biological potential. One potential marine resource is lobster. The northern coast of Java, including Gresik and Lamongan, are some of the areas that have a large potential of lobster. But so far fishermen have caught lobsters based on lucky factor. The absence of technological involvement and suitable fishing methods make lobster catches in the Gresik and Lamongan regions aren’t optimal yet. Therefore, research on i-LOCA as lobster catcher was conducted by Felayati (2011) with the first version of i-LOCA and Putri (2017) with the third version of i-LOCA. However, this research still has lack because the less optimal stimulus system used to attract lobster's attention to the i-LOCA catcher.
In this study a stimulus system improvement was carried out in the third version of the i-LOCA by conducting design of experiment (DOE). DOE is used to determine the effect of LED light and bait on the response of lobster attraction. DOE is conducted by the Taguchi method. DOE is carried out in lobster ponds to simulate the performance of the stimulus system in the i-LOCA on lobster. The results of this study are known that LED light and bait have influence on the response of lobster attraction. Green LED light and sea fish as lobster bait are the best stimulus to attract lobster's attention on the third version of i-LOCA.
