Abstract

Industri manufaktur alat berat semakin berkembang seiring dengan meningkatnya permintaan pasar. Salah satu proses produksi yang digunakan dalam industri manufaktur alat berat adalah pengelasan. Demi menghasilkan pengelasan berkualitas tinggi secara konsisten, dibutuhkan pemilihan parameter pengelasan yang optimal. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisa pengaruh ampere dan diameter elektroda ER70S-G KC26 pada gas metal arc welding (GMAW) terhadap sifat mekanik dan struktur mikro sambungan las JIS G3101 SS400. Kuat arus listrik yang diteliti 320, 420, dan 520 ampere sementara untuk diameter elektroda adalah 1,2 mm dan 1.4 mm. Hasil menunjukkan kekerasan tertinggi 209,8 HB sementara terendah 171,6 HB, nilai UTS tertinggi 569,3 MPa sementara terendah 531,4 MPa, presentase elongasi terbesar 56% sementara terkecil 38%, nilai impact tertinggi 122,8 Joule sementara terendah 56,68 Joule. Hasil struktur mikro menunjukkan pada HAZ didominasi oleh lath martensite, bainit dan polygonal ferit sementara pada daerah weld didominasi oleh acicular ferit, widmanstätten ferit, dan polygonal ferit. Baik ampere maupun diameter elektroda ER70S- G KC26 mempengaruhi sifat mekanik dan struktur mikro hasil pengelasan JIS G3101.

Heavy equipment manufacturing industry keepsgrowing along with the increasing market demand. One of the production lineused in themanufacturing processwaswelding. In order to produce high-quality welding consistently, optimal selection of welding parameters wasneeded. Therefore, this study wasconducted to analyze the influenceof ampere and electrode diameter ER70S-G KC26 ofgas metal arc welding (GMAW) on the mechanical properties and microstructure of JIS G3101 SS400 welded joint. The variabelsof electric current were320, 420 and 520 amperes while the electrode diameterswere1.2 mm and 1.4 mm. The results showed the highest hardness was209.8 HB while the lowest was 171.6 HB, the highest UTS value was 569.3 MPa while the lowest was 531.4 MPa, the highest elongation percentage was 56% whilethe lowest was 38%, the highest impact was 122.8 Joule while the lowest was 56.68 Joule. The results of microstructure showed that HAZ was dominated by lath martensite, bainite and polygonal ferrite while in the weld regionit was dominated by acicular ferrite, widmanstätten ferrite, and polygonal ferrite. Both ampere and electrode diameterER70S-G KC26 affectsmechanical properties and microstructuresof weldedjointJIS G3101.
