Abstract

Inhibitor merupakan salah satu bentuk pengendalian korosi internal di dalam industri perminyakan dan gas. Sabut Kelapa memiliki kandungan lignin mencapai 45%, sehingga ekstrak lignin dari sabut kelapa dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai inhibitor organik. Dalam penelitan ini dilakukan perendaman baja karbon ST 41 pada larutan elektrolit dengan metode rotating cylinder electrode (RCE) dengan variasi konsentrasi inhibitor organik. Elektrolit yang digunakan adalah asam lemah NaCl 3,5% pH 4 dan Inhibitor yang digunakan 0, 710, 1065, dan 1420 ppm. Dari hasil pengujian weightloss, konsentrasi optimum pada ekstrak sabut kelapa berada pada 1420 ppm dengan laju korosi 0,35 mmpy dan efisiensi 50,47%, pada fluida mengalir berada pada 1420 ppm dengan laju korosi 1,26 mmpy dan efisiensi 55,96%. FTIR menunjukkan adanya kandungan lignin di dalam esktrak sabut kelapa. Inhibitor sabut kelapa termasuk dalam jenis inhibitor campuran (mix type inhibitor). Prinsip adsorpsi dari inhibitor adalah physical adsorption. Penambahan inhibitor menurunkan laju korosi secara signifikan akibat pembentukan lapisan protektif. ================================================================================================ Inhibitors are one form of internal corrosion control in the oil and gas industry. Coconut coir has a lignin content reaching 45%, so lignin extract from coconut fiber can be used as an organic inhibitor. In this research, ST 41 carbon steel immersion was carried out on electrolyte solutions using the rotating cylinder electrode (RCE) method with variations in the concentration of organic inhibitors. The electrolyte used was NaCl 3.5% pH 4 and inhibitors used were 0, 710, 1065, and 1420 ppm. From the results of weightloss testing, the optimum concentration in coconut coir extract was at 1420 ppm with a corrosion rate of 0.35 mmpy and efficiency of 50.47%, in the flowing fluid at 1420 ppm with a corrosion rate of 1.26 mmpy and efficiency of 55.96%. FTIR shows the presence of lignin in coconut fiber extract. Coconut coir inhibitors are included in the mix type inhibitor. The principle of adsorption from the inhibitor is physical adsorption. Addition of inhibitors significantly reduces the corrosion rate due to the formation of a protective layer.
