Abstract

Baja API 5L grade B merupakan baja karbon yang paling sering dipakai dalam dunia industry seperti material pipa dalam industri perminyakan, industri geothermal, dan lain-lain. Namun jika dibandingkan dengan baja lain seperti High Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, dsb masih cukup rendah ketahanan korosinya. Salah satu pengendali korosi yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan inhibitor. Pada penelitian ini inhibitor yang digunakan adalah inhibitor organik yakni inhibitor ekstrak biji alpukat dalam media NaCl 3,5% dan variabelnya meliputi waktu perendaman dan penambahan konsentrasi. Adapun waktu perendamannya adalah 2hari, 4hari, 6hari, 8hari, 10 hari dan 12 hari, sedangkan konsentrasi yang digunakan adalah 0ppm, 1000ppm, 2000ppm, 3000ppm, 4000ppm dan 5000ppm. Pengujian yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah GC-MS, weightloss, SEM, FTIR, AAS, Polarisasi dan EIS. Hasil GCMS menunjukkan adanya senyawa 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid ; Oleic acid dan Fenol yang merupakan senyawa yang terdapat dalam tanin sehingga mengidentifikasikan adanya tannin dalam inhibitor ekstrak biji alpukat. Adapun hasil weightloss menunjukkan jika efisiensi tertinggi terdapat pada baja API 5L Grade B dengan konsentrasi 3000ppm pada hari ke-12 bernilai 94,3205%. Sedangkan efisiensi terendah terdapat pada konsentrasi 5000ppm pada hari ke-2 bernilai 47,1747%. Hasil SEM menunjukkan adanya lapisan tipis yang melindungi logam saat diberi inhibitor dan EDS menunjukkan unsur O memiliki kadar yang lebih rendah ketika diberi inhibitor. Hasil FTIR menunjukkan gugus fungsi seperti O-H; C≡N; NH3+ dan NO2 yang teradsorpsi pada permukaan baja. Hasil AAS menunjukkan kadar Fe terlarut ketika diberikan inhibitor berkurang. Hasil polarisasi menunjukkan inhibitor bertipe mixing inhibitor. Dan terakhir pengujian EIS menunjukkan pemberian inhibitor menunjukkan penurunan Rs dan kenaikan Rp saat pemberian inhibitor. ================================================================================================ API 5L grade B steel is the most commonly used carbon steel in the world of industry such as pipe material in the petroleum industry, geothermal industry, and others. But when compared with other steel such as High Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, etc., it is still quite low in corrosion resistance. One of the corrosion controllers that can be done is by using an inhibitor. In this study the inhibitors used were organic inhibitors namely avocado seed extract inhibitors in 3.5% NaCl media and the variables included immersion time and addition of concentration. The immersion time is 2 days, 4 days, 6 days, 8 days, 10 days and 12 days, while the concentration used is 0ppm, 1000ppm, 2000ppm, 3000ppm, 4000ppm and 5000ppm. The tests conducted in this study were GC-MS, weightloss, SEM, FTIR, AAS, Polarization and EIS. GCMS results indicate the presence of compound 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid; Oleic acid and phenol which are compounds contained in tannins thus identifying the presence of tannins in avocado seed extract inhibitors. The weightloss results show that the highest efficiency is found in API 5L Grade B steel with a concentration of 3000ppm on the 12th day worth 94.3205%. While the lowest efficiency was at a concentration of 5000ppm on the 2nd day worth 47.17%. SEM results indicate that a thin layer that protects the metal when given an inhibitor and EDS shows the element O has a lower level when given an inhibitor. FTIR results show functional groups such as O-H; C≡N; NH3 + and NO2 are adsorbed on the steel surface. The AAS results show dissolved Fe levels when the inhibitor is given reduced. The results of polarization showed mixing inhibitor type inhibitors. And the last EIS test showed that giving inhibitors showed a decrease in Rs and an increase of Rp when giving inhibitors.
