Abstract

Motor listrik X merupakan salah satu produk motor listrik yang di desain oleh pihak Akademisi dan di produksi oleh PT X. Saat ini, motor listrik X berada dalam tahap pengujian dan perbaikan proses fabrikasi dan perakitan. Proses perancangan lini perakitan menjadi penting sebelum pelaksanaan produksi masal karena akan menyebabkan banyak kerugian saat rancangan lini perakitan tidak efisien. Persaingan motor listrik yang ketat juga menjadi permasalahan tersendiri bagi perusahaan sehingga mengharuskan untuk menekan biaya produksi nya, salah satunya dengan merancang lini perakitan yang efisien. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, rancangan lini perakitan saat ini masih menimbulkan beberapa waste (pemborosan) seperti pemborosan yang diakibatkan oleh perbedaan waktu antar station yang menyebabkan waktu tunggu antar station. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penerapan konsep lean manufacturing untuk mereduksi waste tersebut. Tahap penerapan lean manufacturing dimulai dengan pemetaan alur informasi dan aliran produk menggunakan VSM (Value Stream Mapping) dan PAM (Process Activity Mapping), identifikasi akar penyebab pemborosan (5whys), menentukan akar penyebab pemborosan dengan RCA (Root Cause Analysis). Kemudian dari setiap akar penyebab pemborosan diberikan rekomendasi perbaikan. Berdasarkan rekomendasi perbaikan yang diusulkan, didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat perbedaan waktu yang dibutuhkan dari 1715,22 detik menjadi 1431,05 detik, sedangkan efisiensi lini perakitan naik dari 68% menjadi 98% dengan total idle time 9,35 detik.

X electric motor is one of the electric motor products designed by both Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) and produced by PT X. Electric motors X are in the stage of testing and repairing of the fabrication and assembly processes. The designing of assembly line process is important before the implementation of mass production because it will cause a lot of losses when assembly line design is inefficient. Competition of electric motor is also a problem for the company so that it requires to reduce production costs, one of which is by designing efficient assembly lines. Based on the results of the observation, the current assembly line design still causes some waste, such as waste caused by time variation between stations that cause waiting times appear between stations. Therefore, it is necessary to apply the lean manufacturing concept to reduce the waste. The stage of implementing lean manufacturing begins with mapping both information flow and product flow using VSM (Value Stream Mapping) and PAM (Process Activity Mapping), identifying the root causes of waste (5whys), determining the root causes of waste with RCA (Root Cause Analysis). Then, each root cause of waste is given a recommendation for improvement. Based on the proposed improvement recommendations, it was found that there was a difference in the time needed from 1715.22 seconds to 1431.05 seconds, while the efficiency of the assembly line rose from 68% to 98% with a total idle time of 9.35 seconds.
