Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang evaluasi performa Water Intake yang terdapat pada sistem pendingin Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Gas dan Uap (PLTGU), pengujian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pemodelan fisik dari kanal Water Intake PLTGU Grati, Pasuruan, Jawa Timur. Desain Water Intake dengan dimensi L= 33.30 m, B= 13.40 m dan T= 11.67 m dibangun dengan skala geometri 1:15, penskalaan prototipe ke model menggunakan hukum Froude. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pola aliran yang terjadi pada model fisik dan elevasi minimal yang diizinkan berdasarkan pedoman yang berlaku. Variabel yang diukur pada penelitian ini adalah kecepatan aliran di dalam kanal dan juga dokumentasi fisik pola aliran didalam kanal termasuk pembentukan vortex. Pengujian dilakukan pada tiga variasi elevasi yaitu HWL, MSL dan LWL. Hasil eksperimen menunjukan bahwa pola aliran di dalam kanal bervariasi terhadap kedalaman dengan rata-rata nilai Reynolds Number= 3.5 x 10^4. Pembentukan vortex terjadi pada semua elevasi dimana vortex terbentuk di area dekat pompa. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan elevasi kritis kanal berada pada H= 0.29 m dimana pada kondisi sesungguhnya yaitu H= 4.35 m. =============================================================================================== This study discusses the evaluation of Water Intake performance found in the cooling system of Gas and Steam Plants (PLTGU), the tests were carried out using physical modeling from the Water Intake channel of the PLTGU Grati, Pasuruan, East Java. Water Intake Design with dimensions L = 33.30 m, B = 13.40 m and T = 11.67 m built with a 1:15 scale geometry, prototype scaling to the model using Froude law. The purpose of this study was to determine the flow patterns that occur in the physical model and the minimum elevation permitted based on applicable guidelines. The variables measured in this study are the flow velocity inside the canal and also the physical documentation of flow patterns inside the canal including vortex formation. Tests were carried out on three elevation variations, namely HWL, MSL and LWL. The experimental results show that the flow pattern inside the canal varies with depth with an average value of Reynolds Number = 3.5 x 10^4. The formation of vortex occurs at all elevations where vortex is formed in the area near the pump. The results of the observations show that the critical elevation of the canal is at H = 0.29 m where the actual condition is H = 4.35 m.
