Abstract

In general, the subject who is doing exercise fitness will experience saturation when the process exercise done contiously, it is caused by environmental condition that always the same. In this final project, a system will be developed to reduce saturation using virtual reality display and adjusting the speed of the treadmill which depends on the value of the heart rate produced by ECG with Karvonen formula. Karvonen formula is used as standard for categorization heart rate value for every subject for deciding heart rate minimum value and maximum value, where is the use of this formula require age and gender information. Heart rate calculation performed with three lead’s ECG installed using Einthoven method where installed around left chest, right chest and boney spot around ribs as the ground. When the system operate, ECG will be installed onto subject’s body then capture heart signal and output data will be processed by Arduino Due using Pantompkins Theorem until heart rate obtained, then heart rate will be classfied to decide the output which will be used on treadmill and virtual reality display for controlling the speed that depends on heart rate of subject. Examination have been done to nine subject who are 22 years old and male with success rate 77,77% toward 8.5% threshold from the peak of signal ECG. Comparison of heart rate respond when using virtual reality or not, toward every subject have a different respond.
